Animation Studies

2017-18

Short animation studies exploring a variety techniques created as a part of my comprehensive animation degree.

Each of these animations contains drawings created by hand that are then digitally manipulated.

Lip sync animation from a favorite line from the novel "Nakano Thrift Shop” by Hiromi Kawakami. The character precedes random sentences with the phrase “you know what I mean” – i.e. “You know what I mean? Pass me the soy sauce holder.”

A 2.5D animation created from colored pencil drawings in After Effects at a time when I was interested in faux cell biology.

My first walk cycle animation created in AfterEffects. from drawings in marker and pen with small bits of thread.

Animations I created for a friend’s student film.

A simple flip book animation loop that I overlaid on top of a video self portrait.

Animation on roughly 1,400 index cards in which I used up all of my green pigments.
