Human Emotions: An Awesome Exercise for a Potentially Awesome Selfie
Now, like every great comedian and speech-writer, we’re going to Google a list of human emotions.
Actually, I’ve already done that, and I’m going to make you out, on cue, in the most caricatured, ugly, and over-expressive way possible, and take selfies while doing that. Try your best to get a solid environment and lighting situation first so that you’re not too worried about where you are in space.
If you look good in this selfies, this should be a total coincidence or a sign you’re doing something wrong.
(reasonably, you should only be able to do a few of these emotions at a time. I’d like to draw them out of a hat if I could, or do a bit of coding to randomize them).
Anger – go.
Fear – go.
Happiness – go.
Sadness – go.
Disgust – go.
Awe – go.
Boredom – go.
Amusement – go.
Envy – go.
Confusion – go.
Pride – go.
Guilt – go.
Surprise – go.
Love –go.
Anxiety – go.
Satisfaction – go.
Embarrassment – go.
Shame – go.
Interest – go.
Contempt – go.
Admiration – go.
Hatred – go.
Nostalgia – go.
Loneliness – go.
So, let’s take a look. How do you think you look? How good of an actor are you?
Are you a funny person or a serious one?
What emotions can you perform most easily?
Which ones are more difficult?
And, can you see where that may come from in your personality & life experiences?
Where do you have room to improve?
You have five minutes to write about this.
