These small drawings are my most recent body of work. Created in the media of oil pastel, colored and graphite pencil, these mostly colorful drawings use randomness in mark-making and combinations of subject matter to create approachable yet enigmatic compositions. I use highly saturated color fields in which I exaggerate the smudged nature of oil pastel for a lively yet organic visual impact which mirrors the natural features of my compositions, which often include flowers, eggs, and cell-like entities.
